{"id":2972,"date":"2025-09-23T10:14:24","date_gmt":"2025-09-23T10:14:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebluewhale.ai\/blog\/?p=2972"},"modified":"2025-09-23T11:02:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-23T11:02:11","slug":"nvidia-to-invest-us100-billion-in-openai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebluewhale.ai\/blog\/nvidia-to-invest-us100-billion-in-openai\/","title":{"rendered":"Nvidia To Invest US$100 Billion In OpenAI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Nvidia will invest up to US$100 billion in the buildout of OpenAI data centres, Nvidia Founder and CEO Jensen Huang announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to their announcements, Nvidia and OpenAI unveiled a letter of intent for what both companies described as a landmark artificial intelligence infrastructure project, pairing at least 10 gigawatts of Nvidia systems with the planned US$100 billion investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is the biggest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.contakts.ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">AI<\/a> infrastructure project in history,\u201d Huang said, adding the partnership was about moving AI \u201cfrom the labs into the world,\u201d according to an interview-style post on Nvidia\u2019s corporate blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said \u201cthere\u2019s no partner but Nvidia that can do this at this kind of scale, at this kind of speed,\u201d and called the infrastructure \u201cthe fuel that we need to drive improvement,\u201d the blog reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The firms said the first gigawatt is targeted for the second half of 2026 on Nvidia\u2019s Vera Rubin platform, and the partnership will use millions of Nvidia GPUs to train and run OpenAI\u2019s next generation of models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OpenAI noted it now serves more than 700 million weekly active users, highlighting the need to expand capacity as new models are introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/thebluewhale.ai\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Untitled-5-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2973\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nvidia will invest up to US$100 billion in the buildout of OpenAI data centres, Nvidia Founder and CEO Jensen Huang announced.
